The 15th edition of the Asia Cup is to be played in 2022, Sri Lanka was supposed to host the 2022 Asia Cup but due to the poor political and economic situation of Sri Lanka, the ACC has decided that Asia 2022 will be held in the UAE.
Asian Cricket Council President Jay Shah has said that we tried our best to organize the Asia Cup 2022 in Sri Lanka, but considering the current situation, it was not possible to organize the Asia Cup in Sri Lanka, so we decided that shifting the tournament to UAE would be a good idea. The decision will be taken because the UAE will be a safe venue for the Asia Cup 2022 in view of the current weather conditions, and we have also decided that the hosting rights of the Asia Cup 2022 will remain with Sri Lanka.

UAE has hosted the Asia Cup thrice before this and India has won the Asia Cup all three times, so looking at India’s good record in the UAE, it can be said that there is a good chance for India that once again India bring the Asia Cup home.

The Asia Cup will be organized in the UAE, earlier Sri Lanka was the organizer of the Asia Cup 2022, but in view of the political situation there, the ACC has shifted the Asia Cup to the UAE, for which two venues have been selected Dubai International Cricket Stadium , Sharjah Cricket Stadium, all the matches of Asia Cup will be played on these two venues.
